Hi! And welcome to our weight loss journey :)
But no seriously, we're getting skinny. You always hear college girls saying that are trying this diet or that diet...and then you don't see results. I have been one of those girls. I'm not eating junk food...or I'm going on a "cleanse"...or I'm eating only salads or not eating after 5 or I'm going to the gym 372 times a week. Whatever. I have successfully seen maybe...2?...people lose weight thus far in my college career. And actually, my college career is done so what does that tell you?
Anyway, I'm going into my 5th year of college (and finishing up my master's degree in occupational therapy this year). I am subletting an apartment with 2 of my sorority sisters--one, Jo, who is going to NYU next year to get her master's in education, and Amy, who is going to be a senior and is studying PR.
Jo's sister is getting married in a couple months. Jo's sister also happens to weight 98 lbs (she is short but still). Jo is going to be the Maid of Honor and she wants to look skinny. Enter: Diet (bum bum bummmmm). Our friend Brit had previously done Jenny and said it worked. Jo is lazy and wants to lose weight with minimal effort (i.e. no cooking and little gym time). Jenny fits PERFECTLY into this lifestyle, so she decided to do it.
One evening, as we were sitting around our table, Jo convinced Amy and I to join her in this quest. I had some stuff going on, so I decided that I would start the week after them. Jo and Amy came home with all this AMAZING looking frozen food and snacks (I mean really, when is the last time you had cinnamon french toast for breakfast?). I couldn't wait to start, so I went in for my initial consultatation at the same time as their first week weigh in.
The results?
Jo: -3 lbs
Amy: -1.5 lbs (with a considerable amount of drinking, I might add)
Me: -0 (I was just starting. And I weigh toooo much. I'm actually the heaviest I've been in my life).
Now, none of us are huge. But my goal weight is 35 lbs away. Jo wants to lose about 15 lbs before the wedding, and Amy wants to lose as much as she can before going to London. So we all signed up for 6 weeks, and I can't wait to see what we can lose. You will be updated at least once a week, and hopefully you can get some motivation and tips from us for your own get skinny plan :)
