Update: Week 1, Before the Weigh In

Today is day 7.
Which is very exciting--making it a whole week on a diet is probably a new high for me (except the 4 months I went anorexic in high school. That doesn't count.)

I was doing realllly well on this diet. And I suppose I still am--but it's been a little more difficult this week. My best friend is moving this weekend, so we have been going out. A lot. Which means I have been drinking. A lot. Drinking whiskey is an enemy of the diet--I swear whiskey (my drink of choice) converts directly into fat cells on my ass and stomach. So we had two nights of that--and the scale reflected a 2 lb gain.

Also, I cheated on the diet for the first time last night. A group of friends went to get some AMAZING Italian food. I wasn't going to miss out on the social bonding, so I decided I would go. I ate my Jenny Craig meal before I left, including a ridiculous amount of  vegetables so I would feel full. I then was SO PROUD of myself, because I drank diet coke (not wine) and ate a garden salad. That's it! I was doing so great.

Then dessert. We went to my favorite pastry place, and I caved and got a canoli (which was also amazing). I can say, though, that I only ate half and threw half away, and I didn't drink last night. So I did improve upon my previous behaviors, and hopefully my somewhat dedication will be reflected at weigh in tonight.
