I was so anxious leading up to my visit to Jenny Craig. I didn't want to have failed at it and not lost any weight--or worse, gained any!
Apparently, that wasn't the problem. Here were the results: (End of my week one, roommates week two)
Jo: +0.6
Amy: -0.5
Me: -6.0.
And that's not a typo.
My weight last night was 6lbs lower than last Monday. Now granted, I was wearing less clothes and hadn't eaten dinner. But even if you add 3lbs (which is not a conservative estimate), I still lost 3lbs. Which is FANTASTIC. I was so worried I had cheated...was eating too much...blah blah blah. But apparently, I can eat all I want of the correct foods. I don't feel starved or deprived at all. And it's working.
It was the best confidence booster. Jo struggled; she had exercised this week and hardly cheated. But she didn't eat everything she was supposed to (particularly fats), and added a lot of salt (to already sodium-laden food), so it's likely a combination of her body not getting enough nutrients and retaining water. Either way, I totally made up for it.
This coming week will be a little more challenging. I am going to DC for the weekend, and my best friend is moving. There is likely to be a lot of alcohol consumption, and a lack of Jenny food this weekend. This is going to test my willpower for moderation, and my determination to exercise to burn off the alcohol calories.
All in all, successful week! Can't wait to keep going!
